Motorola Q11 Windows Smartphone

Motorola has finally announced the new Motorola Q11 smartphone officially. Some may be okay with this phone and some might be disappointed with its features. This is ideal for those people who wanted a high-speed internet connection with its integrated Wi-Fi. It uses Boingo Mobile to automatically connect the Q11 to different Wi-Fi locations worldwide. Motorola Q11 is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and it gets its data via the GPRS/EDGE connection. No 3G? Yes, it’s not a 3G. Bu at least it has a Wi-Fi. It has a 3 megapixel camera. Not that bad, right although there are already smartphones with higher resolution of camera. Other features include: 64 MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, integrated GPS, and a QVGA display. I think the features have almost similarities with Motorola Q9. Well, that’s it! I know more people would still appreciate this smartphone ‘coz it’s not that really bad. But I’m not one of them. Hehe….

Motorola Straightens ‘Krave’ Touch-Screen Phone

Verizon  Wireless subscribers looking for a touch-screen phone have another pick, as the carrier and Motorola rolled out the Krave ZN4 .

The Krave bears a 2.8-inch touch screen and an interactional clear flip screen on top of it. The innovation is remindful Motorola’s Ming line of smartphones, and users can get one-touch access to features and services without unfolding the phone.

Users can get calls via the speaker or a Bluetooth headset without opening up the masking, or they can open it up to get the feel of a flip phone. The handset is a consumer-oriented twist, but it does have access to Web-based and POP3 e-mail, 3G connectivity, and an HTML browser.

Motorola’s touch-screen phone also has Bluetooth that can be used to pair mono or stereo headsets, transfer files, and more. The Krave also has expandable memory up to 8 GB.

Apple MacBook with Nvidia GeForce 9400M

Apple, on Tuesday launched lighter aluminum MacBooks with  Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics cards, LED-backlit  display with a glass front, multitouch track pad, and reduced the cost of the white plastic MacBook to  $1,000.

The Nvidia chipset runs five times faster than the Intel product used in previous MacBooks, it has three to eight times better performance,  includes a 9600M GT graphics card that allows users to switch to “turbo mode”. The better graphics, however, reduces the notebook’s five hours of battery life by about an hour.

This one has been given a performance boost with a 1.6-GHz or 1.86-GHz Core 2 Duo. The size of the notebook is the same as the older model, starting at 1/3 of an inch and tapering to 0.16 of an inch. The system weights 3 pounds and is available with either a 120-GB hard drive or 128-GB solid-state drive.

IBM builds up R&D In China

IBM had announced the opening of a new R&D lab in Shanghai, China, to redouble its drives on Web-based services, including cloud computing. The installation is a propagation of the IBM China Research Laboratory in Beijing, one of IBM’s eight research labs worldwide.  Cloud computing is rising as a buzz phrase these days but does act a substantial shift in computer cycle resource pooling and server consolidation as organizations are confronting utmost information clog and skyrocketing energy prices.

To ease realize how IBM and other companies large and small are drawing close into cloud computing. There is productive land for 802.11n adoption in the small to medium-sized business enterprise  if marketers can find the right lines to grasp those companies. The report, titled “IEEE 802.11n Update, Forecast, and Vendor Evaluation, ordered just about a million small businesses are right candidates for adoption ahead of time .

ABI reported that small businesses incline to buy small numbers of devices and barter them in more often than bigger enterprises. In addition, the research firm said small-scale enterprises are less knowledgeable about engineering and monetary standard  than companies with committed IT staff office.

Google Launches Search With My Location

Google has set up Search with My Locations to let Windows Mobile handset users to recover nearby destinations. Powered by a new Gears Geolocation API, it applies cell-phone towers to find out location. Search with My Locations can also use cell-phone GPS chips, but Google says computations are much more

tedious than with cell towers.

Building on the mobile Relevant Products/Services mapping capacities that Google rolled out last November, the search titan is launching a new location-awareness capacity called Search with My Location.

Google’s newly innovated mobile-search engineering, which is powered by a new Gears Geolocation API, makes exploring for close commercial enterprise on Windows Mobile phones both quicker and easier.

Now, applying the Gears Geolocation API, Search with My Location estimates your actual positioning using the same cell-ID technology used by Google maps for mobile.

Google says estimates based on cell-tower data are accounted much faster than those based on GPS. And unlike GPS, the technology works reliably indoors and doesn’t run out your phone battery at the rate that GPS does.

According to Google, Gears for mobile can execute automatic position sensing only on Windows Mobile devices that back

up cell-ID or GPS and have Internet Explorer on board.

Google has just plunged a free mobile app that will enable Blackberry users to lead up search inquiries without having to wait for the web browser to load.

In addition to granting searches to be launched with a minimum number of keystrokes, the new mobile app renders Blackberry users with comfortable memory access to Maps, Gmail, News, and other Google resources.

Dell Announced Its First Intel Atom-Based Mini 9 Netbook At $350

Dell has disclosed the Inspiron Mini 9 mini-notebook PC, which weighs 2.28 lbs. and can function up to four hours on

a single battery charge. The base model carries Ubuntu Linux with a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom processor and 512MB of SDRAM. Dell’s Inspiron Mini fits into the netbook class, which is still coming out in the U.S. \

Dell Relevant Products/Services has taken the wraps off a new mini-notebook Relevant Products/Services PC squarely targeted at U.S. consumers. Called the Inspiron Mini 9, the PC manufacturer first offering in the so-called netbook category sports an 8.9-inch LED screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

To whittle the product’s minimum-weight requirements lowered to just 2.28 lbs, the netbook is weaponed with a solid-state drive instead of a standard laptop Relevant Products/Services hard drive. According to Dell, the device is capable of operating for up to four hours off a single battery charge.

The notebook is available this autumn at a starting price of $349, the Inspiron Mini will ship with an integrated Wi-Fi (802.11g)

radio to enable users to wirelessly connect to the net. Though the entry-level device will feature the Linux-based Ubuntu operating system, customers have the option of alternating to Windows XP Home Edition for an extra $50.
