Apple MacBook with Nvidia GeForce 9400M

Apple, on Tuesday launched lighter aluminum MacBooks with  Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics cards, LED-backlit  display with a glass front, multitouch track pad, and reduced the cost of the white plastic MacBook to  $1,000.

The Nvidia chipset runs five times faster than the Intel product used in previous MacBooks, it has three to eight times better performance,  includes a 9600M GT graphics card that allows users to switch to “turbo mode”. The better graphics, however, reduces the notebook’s five hours of battery life by about an hour.

This one has been given a performance boost with a 1.6-GHz or 1.86-GHz Core 2 Duo. The size of the notebook is the same as the older model, starting at 1/3 of an inch and tapering to 0.16 of an inch. The system weights 3 pounds and is available with either a 120-GB hard drive or 128-GB solid-state drive.
