Lenovo announced programs for a 1-inch-thick IdeaPad netbook

Lenovo, the Chinese company with worldwide headquarters in Morrisville, N.C., is the newest to Jump into Netbook Market — also known as Internet PCs. This month, Lenovo announced designs for a 1-inch-thick IdeaPad netbook with a 10-inch screen. The educational marketplace is seen as premier dominion for netbooks and Lenovo is planning a framework designed specifically for educational establishments.Starting price: $399. But Lenovo will have pile of rivals in the netbook family, which was jumpstarted last year when Taiwanese computer manufacer Asus introduced the $300 Eee PC. By contrast, high-end laptops go for more than $2,000.

Lenovo isn’t gear up to point its marketing projects but says since the netbook is configured mainly for Internet use, one direction of its crusade will be social networking sites.

Lenovo’s launching will start shipping next month.

Google Android Occupies Japan Next Year

NTT DoCoMo has formally announced that it will be extending at least one Google Android smartphone as part of its lineup for 2009. This bounds the gun over challengers KDDI and SoftBank.
